    ← About Britclean
    Responsible choices

    Environmental
    Policy.

Our commitment to reducing avoidable waste and encouraging responsible use of cleaning equipment, water, energy and detergents.

    Workshop inspection of cleaning equipment
    Our commitment
    Look after the equipment.
    Use resources with care.

This policy sets out the principles we aim to follow in our day-to-day work and the advice we offer customers. It applies to our equipment supply, servicing and repair activities.

    Environmental priorities

    Practical steps.
    Lasting value.

    Extend equipment life

We aim to encourage appropriate servicing, maintenance and repair where these are practical, helping customers avoid premature replacement and get more use from existing equipment.

    Choose equipment for the task

We aim to recommend machines and accessories suited to the application. Selecting an appropriate combination of pressure, flow and power can help avoid unnecessary use of resources.

    Use water and energy responsibly

We encourage operators to follow manufacturer guidance, maintain equipment and avoid unnecessary running time. Water and energy requirements should be considered when planning a cleaning task.

    Use detergents with care

We encourage the use of suitable products at the recommended dilution, with attention to product instructions and safety data sheets. Detergents should be stored securely and prevented from entering drains or watercourses where this is not permitted.

    Reduce and manage waste

Our aim is to minimise avoidable waste, reuse suitable materials where practical and segregate waste for appropriate recovery or disposal. Oils, chemicals, batteries and electrical equipment require suitable handling and authorised disposal routes.

    Prevent pollution

We aim to keep work areas orderly, store potentially polluting materials appropriately and respond promptly to leaks or spills. Cleaning runoff should be managed with attention to the site and the substances being removed.

    Putting the policy into practice

    Responsibility.
    Review.
    Improvement.

    Shared responsibility

Management is responsible for supporting this policy. Everyone involved in our work should consider its environmental impact and raise concerns about waste, leaks or unsafe storage.

    Customer guidance

We aim to help customers understand appropriate equipment use and maintenance. Operators remain responsible for following the manufacturer’s instructions and the requirements of their own working site.

    Keeping the policy relevant

We aim to review this policy as our activities change and identify practical opportunities to improve. Our approach includes observing applicable environmental requirements and seeking suitable advice when needed.
